Read-A-Thon

Berk's school has a neat Read-A-Thon fundraiser this spring.  To kick it off, the students were encouraged to dress like their favorite book characters.  Berkley picked "Bradley" from one of his favorite series "The Calendar Mysteries". I dressed him in the requisite green polo, added eyeliner freckles, and made this "sandwich board" book cover so folks would know he was.  I may not be able to sew a cool costume, but at least I can draw a little!

That evening we went back to school for the Read-A-Thon kick off.  It was a really fun event in which kids went to three different classrooms to learn about different literary devices or genres.  These sweet friends had the best time together!
