For a while now Stephen and i have been using our salad plates for our dinner meals.  Here is why:
This is the exact same amount of food:  fish, rice and green beans.  The fish portion may be just a tad bigger on the left hand side, but I know everything else is the same.  Isn't it amazing how that full plate on the left looks "right" when the one on the right looks empty?!  Fascinating!  It totally makes a difference on how we serve our plates and the quantity of food we eat around here.
