In January we had some ridiculously cold weather...so cold that schools were delayed even though we didn't have wintry weather. I discovered that it's possible to freeze bubbles when temps are so low, so Berkley and I ran outside in our pajamas to give it a try! We discovered that bubble froze best on surfaces under which air could pass (the hollow steps, the table, etc.) and not so well on the ground or other solid surfaces. This made for a great conversation about how/why/when liquids freeze. It really was a fascinating and fun little science experiment!
